New Turquoise Chip Necklace

Whenever I feel like making jewelry, I go into my work room, put on some music, and just sit for a while till i get inspired. I was listening to Incubus when I decided to make this necklace. I love the end results, so maybe I'll listen to Incubus more often :)    This piece is 20 inches long and is made from turquoise chips, gold faceted beads that are between each chip, the beautiful abalone shell, and the braided leather cord.  I just love this piece. I haven't decided if I'm going to make earrings to go with it though.

Bridal Jewelry Set Finished

P1050030P1050033

Ever since I found out my son was engaged I can’t seem to think about anything else. Even the jewelry I’m making screams, “Wedding”.  I made these earrings a couple of weeks ago, and ever since then I had been thinking of a design for a necklace to go with them.  This is what I came up with, and I have to say I’m pretty happy with the results. The only thing I would change is the length of it. I made it 20 inches long and I think I should’ve made it 18 inches instead. The picture doesn’t do it justice at all because it has so much sparkle I just wasn’t able to get with the camera.

I also managed to buy these goodies at a really good price. I just fell in love with the SS butterfly ring and mystic topaz pendant. I paid $18 for the ring with an 80% off discount. The pendant cost me $26 and it was a great price since it’s SS and the topaz is almost an inch long. I tried on clothes but nothing fit so I went for the jewelry. That always fits perfectly.

Cluster Of Pearsl Drop Earrings

I have just finished a pair of pearl earrings. I just love the way they look on. They do feel a little heavier than regular one or two bead earrings though. I just might wear these to my son's wedding if I don't sell them before the big day. I really like the way the cluster of pearls look. They look very classy indeed. The crystals on the right earring are white and not yellow.

Little Surprise From Hubby

Just in case you don't know, my little Chi is very sick with a tumor in her tummy and yhr vet doesn't think she would survive surgery because she not only has a tumor, but she also has a heart murmur and she is also anemic. I have been very upset since I found out about it, so I have just been loving her as much as possible every single day. Well, hubby surprised the heck out of me with this little bird necklace. He thought it would cheer me up. It did. I love it!

Jade Mermaid Necklace & Earring Set

I finished the Jade Mermaid necklace and earring set and am totally happy with how it turned out. I used peridot gems, pearls, and the jade mermaid pendant of course. I used a sterling silver toggle with a pearl which I thought matched the necklace perfectly. I like the fact that the necklace is chunky but not too chunky. The weight is good and and the 18" length is perfect.

Lion Necklace And Earrings

Here is the Lion Necklace and earrings to go with it. I'm just calling it the Leo Necklace because the only reason I bought the pendant is because my husband is a Leo. I love the way it turned out. It's bold, red and dark gray but since the pendant is Hematite it does feel a little heavy to me but I'm sure it's cause I'm not used to wearing anything this big. The pendant is 1 3/4 inch wide so it's not really small. I'm glad I used the glass work beads instead of the Hematite or else it would really feel heavy. I wonder what the hubby will say when he sees it on me. I almost added a clear glass work bead between the two red coral beads in the earrings but thought it would be too much too close to the head so I just went with two coral beads on a chain just to give it some dangle. Very happy with the set.

Monday Buys

Today, I went bead shopping and these are the goodies I couldn't pass up. I be making a necklace with the beautiful Jade mermaid pendant. The beads I'll be using with that are the peridot and pearls. The other is a hematite lion head that I'll be making with the clear lamp work and coral beads. My hubby being a Leo is what made me buy that lion pendant. We'll see what that turns out like. I'm so excited to start these necklaces.

Introducing Cotton

I'd like to introduce you to Cotton, my very lovable big hairy cat. He will be 2 years old in July and I'm crazy about him. The last time I had a cat was 10 years before Cotton. Her name was, Sonia, a beautiful very well behaved Calico that I had for 10 years. I loved that cat so much. I enjoyed every day I had with her. I didn't think I would be able to care about another cat again. But then one night my son found two kittens in a pot at Home Depot and brought them home. As soon as I held the little white cotton ball my heart melted, and again I became the owner of another kitten. We just bonded right away. My son fell for the black and white brother so we just kept both.
You'll be seeing lot's more of Cotton in future posts, which is why I'm introducing him now.

Tudor Ring

I have always liked Elizabethan style jewelry and my likeness for it grew even more when I watched the movie Anne Boleyn and The Tudors. This ring is a 5 1/2. I was suppose to make it a 7 but I used my size and by the time i realized it was too late to make it bigger. I'll be making more rings like this one so not to worry if you want one. I can't wait to try turquoise as the bigger bottom beads and maybe coral as the smaller beads. I have so many ideas for this design.

Animal Lover's Necklace

I love that Turquoise Cat pendant. This necklace is going to someone who's a casting director for animals in NY. Necklace would look so good on a black sweater or white blouse. That cat pendant was a real find because I have never seen another like it. I guess it was meant for the lovely woman who's getting it. If I ever find another I'm getting it and making myself a necklace.

Enrica's Necklace

This is the purple and green necklace I made for my son's girlfriend,Enrica. I added the small green bicones between the trio of beads and that really made a huge difference in how much more it sparkles, which is what I wanted. I think she's going to like it. I'll be making matching earrings tomorrow. I'll post those later.

Shopping For Amythyst

Today I'll be shopping for some amethyst tear drop gems to make a special necklace for my friend, Enrica, who happens to be my son's girlfriend.
I'm crazy  about that girl, she is such a sweetheart.

She's my spooky movie buddy when they come visit. Anyway, I had already bought some flat amethyst tear drops but they don't sparkle and I want sparkle for the necklace.  I'll post a picture of the necklace when I'm done with it.

I'll have to make more of these bracelets since I've had more requests. I'll have to make me one that's for sure. I think I'll make some with Cinnabar and Turquoise.

Custom Made Necklace And Bracelet

I have finished the  Ruby/Sapphire necklace and bracelet I made for a girl who is graduating from high school. Her sister wanted me to make it with her and her mom's birthstone. I think it turned out beautiful and she loved it so I'm very happy. It's so feminine looking.
